I’m Arthur Osorio, and I am running to be your Aliso Viejo City Council Member.

Update on the 2022 Campaign:

Well the vote isn't totally counted, but it is pretty clear that we have the winners in my race and while we may end up around 10% of the vote, it wasn’t enough this time.

Plenty of lessons learned and if I decide it makes sense to run again, you can bet that we’ll put of a heck of a fight.

I still believe that I can be of great service to our city and I will continue to find creative ways to be involved. I truly appreciate all the wonderful conversations I had with people and those that trusted me with their greatest concerns.

Thank you everyone for your support.

Why I’m Running

I love our city and want to preserve, support and strengthen our community, its natural beauty, schools and small businesses.

If elected, my primary goal will be to ensure that our home continues to be the greatest place to live and a top local destination.

  • Responsible spending with close oversight is a key issue, as effective budgeting is essential to maintaining the strong fabric of our community.

    As a candidate I…

    • Have proven professional experience effectively managing budgets in the 10s of millions.

    • Take a data-driven approach to budgeting.

    • Do not leave hard questions un-asked.

    • Do not allow myself to get comfortable with existing budgets, and revisit expenses regularly to ensure we are maximizing our resources and changes are made as needed.

  • In California, Aliso Viejo ranks 54th out 1798 cities for parks per square mile. Our natural beauty is undeniable.

    As a candidate, I…

    • Will be an advocate for our city’s natural spaces.

    • Am a proponent of “Broken Windows Theory” and firmly believe that keeping our parks and trails safe and clean is crucial for keeping our city thriving.

    • Regularly use our outdoor recreation areas and know firsthand how important they are to residents and visitors alike.

  • Maintaining relationships with our schools and staff is important to keeping our district strong.

    As a candidate I…

    • Will keep our schools a top priority.

    • Recognize the importance of community and will reach out to our local schools and truly listen to dedicated staff.

    • Will ensure that pressing education issues are heard and addressed.

  • Creating and maintaining a friendly environment for our small businesses will help keep our local economy—and thus city—strong.

    As a candidate I…

    • Will strive to keep barriers low so new small businesses can join our local economy with greater ease.

    • Take steps to ensure that our unique charm is not lost even as business grows.
